The Golden Chariot Train Tour

The Golden Chariot, India's most luxurious train intended to promote tourism in Karnataka. The Golden Chariot luxuriously appointed with the finest facilities.The train has 19 luxuriously and thematically designed coaches, among which 11 coaches are passenger coaches, each one equipped with modern amenities like wi-fi- environment, plasma TV and attached baths etc.
It’s 7 Nights / 8 Days colorful journey begins every Monday from Bangalore and traverses through Mysore, visiting Srirangapatna, Mysore Palace; the Nagarhole National Park (Kabini) and continuing to the historical sites of Shravanabelagola, Belur-the 11th century cradle of Hoysala architecture and a world heritage site, Halebidu, Hampi and thereafter entering into the triangular heritage site of Badami, Pattadakal, Aihole, and finally the Golden Beaches of Goa before ending in Bangalore.

The Golden Chariot Train Tour starts on every Monday of the week from Bangalore and ends in Bangalore on every Monday morning respectively.

TOUR ITINERARY »

Day 01 : Bangalore (Monday)
12:30 : Arrival at The Leela Palace Hotel
13:00 : Check in at The Leela Palace Hotel for The Golden Chariot followed by lunch at Jamawar or Citrus.
15:00 : Departure from The Leela Palace Hotel for Bangalore sightseeing Visit Tipu's Palace, Bull Temple and Lal Bagh.
20:00 : Arrival at Yeshwantpur Station.
2000 - 2030 : Traditional Indian welcome at the Railway Station at Platform No.6 and escorting to respective cabins onboard The Golden Chariot.
21:00 : Departure to Mysore and dinner onboard.

Day 02 : Kabini / Bandipur (Tuesday)
Breakfast on Board
10:00 : Depart for Kabini / Bandipur, experience your drive to the Jungle Resorts.
13:00 : Lunch at the jungle lodge.
Post Lunch : Jungle / Boat Safari, Return in the evening for wild life film, Dinner and overnight stay at jungle lodge.

Day 03 : Mysore (Wednesday)
08:30 : Breakfast at the jungle lodge and depart to Mysore.
11:30 : Back onboard The Golden Chariot to relax.
13:00 : Lunch onboard The Golden Chariot.
15:00 : Mysore sightseeing, Mysore Palace, Srirangapatnam.
17:00 : Reach Brindavan Gardens for Cultural show followed by Dinner at Royal Orchid.
22:00 : Back onboard The Golden Chariot.

Day 04 : Hassan (Thursday)
06:00 : Breakfast onboard and depart for Hassan.
08:15 : Arrive at Hassan
09:00 : Depart for sightseeing to Shravanabelagola (Please note this has a climb of 640 steps to experience the architectural marvel. Only those who can undertake this are advised to do so. Guests unwilling to experience can stay back onboard The Golden Chariot and experience the facilities onboard. Palanquins are available for those who cannot take the climb by themselves. This is available to the passengers at no extra cost)
13:00 : Lunch onboard The Golden Chariot.
15:00 : Depart for Belur and Halebid for sightseeing.
19:15 : Back onboard The Golden Chariot.
19:45 : Depart to Hospet and dinner onboard The Golden Chariot.
20:00 : Back onboard The Golden Chariot for dinner.

Day 05 : Hospet (Friday)
06:00 : Arrival at Hospet.
08:30 : After breakfast depart for Hampi sightseeing, Virupaksha Temple, Queen's Bath, Elephant Stables, Local crafts Bazaar.
13:00 : Return to The Golden Chariot for the lunch.
15:00 : Depart for sightseeing, Royal Enclosure, Hazara Rama Temple, Illumination at the Vittala Temple.

Day 06 : Badami (Saturday)
05:00 : Depart from Hospet to Badami.
08:30 : Arrival at Badami .
09:00 : After breakfast depart for sightseeing: Badami Caves and Pattadakal.
13:30 : Return to The Golden Chariot for lunch.
14:00 : Depart for Goa.Relax and enjoy the facilities onboard The Golden Chariot: Spa, Gymnasium.Dinner onboard The Golden Chariot.The Golden Chariot reaches Goa post midnight.

Day 07 : Goa (Sunday)
08:00 : Breakfast onboard The Golden Chariot.
10:00 : Depart for sightseeing.
11:00 : Visit the famous churches of Old Goa.
12:15 : Visit an Old Portuguese house: Sola Souto Maior for Tea/Coffee and cookies and shopping at the emporium.
14:00 : Reach Sahakari Spice Plantation, Ponda for lunch and tour of spice farm.
15:00 : Depart for Utorda Beach.
16:30 : Reach to The Golden Chariot (Guests can make use of the facilities: towels, shower, and toilet).
19:15 : Return to The Golden Chariot and dinner onboard.
21:00 : Depart for Bangalore

Day 08 : Bangalore (Monday)
08:00 : Breakfast onboard The Golden Chariot.
11:00 : Arrival at Yeshwanthpur station.
